While studying the five senses with my preschoolers, I asked the kids, "What is it called when someone's eyes don't work?"
"Blind," they said.
"What if their ears don't work?"
"Deaf is what it's called."
Then jokingly I said, "What if someone's nose doesn't work?"
They paused.
Then one little girl proudly piped up, "Plugged!"
