The May Tickler is from C. Currie of Poughkeepsie, NY:
In my daycare, I use a toy called Pete the Repeat Parrot. One of my three-year-olds was using it to hear herself say the alphabet. I told her to tell Pete the letters as she turned
the cards. When she got to the letter N, she told the parrot, "N. My name starts with the letter N."
Pete repeated, "N. My name starts with the letter N."
Whereupon the three-year-old said, "No. Your name starts with the letter P."
Pete repeated, "No. Your name starts with the letter P."
Starting to get a little frustrated the child said, "My name starts with the letter N."
Not to be out done, Pete repeated, "My name starts with the letter N."
The three-year-old then turned to me and asked, "Does his name start with the letter N?"
By this time, I was rolling around on the floor laughing hysterically.
