The October Tickler is from J. Cutlip of Smithfield, RI:
Recently our child care center incorporated a grocery store theme into our dramatic play area. We asked for donations of empty cardboard cereal boxes, plastic containers, bottles, and other suitable items purchased from a market. The children were very excited to help set up the shelves our store with items they were familiar buying at the real grocery store.
One parent later told us that her son had remarked, "Mom, you know how we used to throw away our trash at home? Now we don't have to; we can just take it to school!"
